FEDERAL AND STATE RECORDKEEPING REQUIREMENTS 

Both the FMCSA and State of Texas Motor Carrier Bureau require regulated companies to maintain certain records to be in compliance. Below are just a few of those requirements: 

• Insurance and authority documents including MCS-150, UCR, TXDMV 
• Driver background and qualification documents including proper application, driver MVR, PSP, criminal background queries, medical cards, etc.  
• Drug and alcohol Program records including driver’s creation of an account with the Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse. 
• Accurate records of truck and trailer maintenance and roadside inspections 
• Accurate records of driver hours of service, including monitoring of ELDs and supporting documents.
